Backroad Comics is an independent comic publisher built on the belief that the best stories are rarely found where everyone is looking.
They exist in forgotten towns, quiet highways, abandoned buildings, late-night diners, roadside attractions, and in the ordinary people whose lives rarely make the headlines. Every place has a history. Every road has a story. Sometimes they simply need someone willing to stop long enough to listen.
Our comics explore those overlooked corners of the world through character-driven stories grounded in humanity, memory, resilience, and the journeys that shape us. Whether the destination is a martial arts tournament, a forgotten stretch of desert highway, or something far stranger, every story begins with people worth following and a road worth traveling.

Ian Stott is the writer and creator behind Backroad Comics.
After spending more than sixteen years working in security and operations, Ian developed an appreciation for the people whose stories often go unnoticed. Those experiences continue to shape his writing, inspiring grounded, character-focused comics about ordinary people facing extraordinary moments.
When he isn't writing, Ian can usually be found exploring Southern California, studying comics as a storytelling medium, or searching for the next story waiting somewhere down a back road.
